Of all the desserts, my number one choice to be quarantined with, the Pavlova takes the cake! If you’ve been to New Zealand or Australia or are just a dessert lover, you’ve probably heard of the pavlova, a meringue based cake named after the Russian ballet dancer Anna Pavlova. It’s such a popular dessert for special occasions that the culinary world in both countries is dueling to this day over the nationality of its creator. And here in Miami there's Piononos bakery and its divine version of the Pavlova.

Add tasty, low cal excitement to your in home eating with local produce from Miami's Farmer's markets, now offering delivery and pickup. Vegetables in particular are at the peak of freshness and you can find items that aren't often available in other markets. Sunday Mr. W and I went to the Redlands Community Market, ordered on the spot, and nabbed meaty, large oyster mushrooms; the freshest bell peppers we've eaten in awhile; crisp baby bok choy; to die for baby eggplants, and other goodies. We never had to get out of the car. They put everything in the trunk . Plus, it makes for an outing (and only took us 30 minutes of driving from Brickell Avenue). Here's a list of seven markets.

Many restaurants around town are responding to the dine-in restrictions by offering takeout and delivery, either through services like Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Postmates and others, or by using their own employees. Thanks to the Brightline, I’ve been going to Palm Beach more often. It’s so easy, breezy and civilized. And when there, I’m always on the lookout for exciting new restaurants, especially a seafood restaurant in West Palm Beach,  rather than the “same old, same old”. Happily the new High Dive in West Palm Beach is anything but the “same old”. And even better, it’s a seafood focused restaurant  by award-winning husband and wife team, Chefs Jeremy and Cindy Bearman. It’s well worth putting on your list when you’re in Palm Beach.
The Deck at Island Gardens was always one of my favorite places to dine well, enjoy a signature view of Miami’s skyline, and soak in a “buzzy”, glamorous atmosphere. So I was notably disappointed when it closed . It reopened two months ago and I had been dying to go back. It’s hard to believe, but I’d go out on a limb and say the “new” Deck is even better. My Parisian woman friend with very high standards and I were seriously impressed.
