Wondering about the best places to eat in different parts of Miami? Here's the fifth in the series, the best Miami Beach restaurants, which has included Wynwood, Coral Gables, Brickell and Coconut Grove. If you missed the earlier posts, there are links at the end.  Note that I have written reviews of all of these restaurants in case you want to know more.
Now in time for the heart of "the season" in Miami, here are exciting new additions to Miami restaurants with shows as well as updates to ones you've read about before. Find everything from cabaret and supper club, to aerialists, Bollywood,  drag and burlesque, Latin choices,  you won't go wrong. Here's our updated version.
From a Dolce and Gabbana exhibit at ICA and the jazz-age glamour of Miami’s Art Deco Weekend with a new culinary addition, to diving into Robert Rauschenberg’s experimental world, or enjoying an intimate, soulful dinner at Maison Ostrow and more, this month offers an exciting  choice of things to do in Miami in January.
Everything from  tastings and celebrity chef demonstrations to a BBQ on the beach,  Wok n' Roll, Grand Tasting, Beachside brunch,  and the free family friendly picnic in the park with entertainment and artisan vendors, interactive food and wine experiences, a dining series  and more are in store at the seventh annual  Visit Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival (VLFWF)  January 19 – 25, 2026, in partnership with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The Fort Lauderdale food and wine festival unites Michelin-recognized restaurants, James Beard-nominated talent, and national culinary stars for a weeklong culinary experience.
It’s that time of year when I think back on my top dishes of the year. This year they embrace all kinds of cuisine, reflecting the culinary variety we have in Miami now. We're talking Italian, American, Eastern Med, Mexican, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. The major criterion in my picks is that the dish be so delicious as to be memorable. Other criteria can include uniqueness, creativity and presentation.  I’ve put a link to my blogpost on each restaurant name in case you want to read more about a place. With everything going on, you can tell we're entering "the season". Check out eating news for December with the opening of the star power Brooklyn Chop House, an incredible Cuban rum cake for the holidays, Palm Beach Food &  Wine Festival, a cabaret well worth checking out, new restaurant openings and a food hall taking the place of Time Out Miami.
Best rooftop bars in Miami, now is the time to explore them, enjoy the breeze, take in the city and beach vistas, relax with friends and savor a refreshing cocktail. From casual venues to elegant ones with  fine-dining options, the rooftop bars can be found in Coconut Grove, Little River. Brickell, Edgewater,  Downtown,  and of course, South Beach. The list includes the newest addition, Amazonico on Brickell. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual Happy Hour, lunch or dinner, we’ve put together a list that won't disappoint. I've put an asterisk next to those I've done a full review on.
Even if  the Miami heat has passed,  it's still a good excuse to indulge with ice cream. And our restaurants are right there for us with WOW sundaes, milkshakes, and  new flavors. There's also new LA hot spot Go Greek Yogurt that opened in Miami World Center and  in Coconut Grove. Check out my picks of the wows, for the best ice cream in Miami. Note that menus change so if you're just going for the ice cream, check that it's still on the menu before you go.
