When I go to Palm Beach it’s as if I hit my “shop button” and off I go. Part of the reason is that “the island” is tranquil, gentle in a way (no crazy drivers), picture perfect and everything is so easy. Any anxiety I have just seems to fade away. And then, one can find wonderful independently owned fashion and accessory boutiques with high quality and, though not inexpensive, much less than the international luxury brands and other local high end boutiques. That meant $7500 or $9500!  So what are my favorite palm beach shops? Here’s a guide to my “go to” list of the best Palm Beach shops. And at the end look for a link to my updated list of the best Palm Beach restaurants.

And I"ve also included a Fort Lauderdale option that's worth the drive.

Different price points as well. Note that in winter season restaurants can book up very early, so best to reserve two weeks in advance or think about going for lunch at the most coveted spots.  Here, too, is an updated list of new things to do and links to my posts on where to stay.

So lately I've been eating a lot of fresh fish, and on the lookout for delicious, easy recipes with few ingredients. You would think it's easy to buy a great piece of fresh fish here, and that there's a good variety. Yes, there are a lot of fish markets, but not many really good ones. Here are my picks of the best Miami fresh fish markets, how to choose the freshest fish, and a great new recipe I've made a few times already.
