Cabaret meets burlesque, meets Cirque de Soleil, with audience dancing too. That’s the new, not to be missed show Sensatia at the Faena Hotel. Presented in Faena Theater in collaboration with Quixotic, a performance collective, it fuses film, live music, impressive acrobatics, aerialist choreography, projection mapping, and culinary arts in an intimate theater where performers interact with guests.

Barton G has always been a star on his stage of creating highly creative, bold, almost theatrical eating in what has always been a fun South Beach experience. We're not talking European style molecular gastronomy. This is American in its themes and drama. I hadn't been back there for close to ten years, just because I'm always pulled to try the new places. But an invitation to try the new menu came in conjunction with the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, so off I went, a cold and all.My curiosity was especially piqued because how, I asked myself, with all of the competition in dining experiences, could Barton G The Restaurant still WOW diners?

A deliciously decadent brunch with bottomless drinks for $49, lunch deal at a posh spot in the Brickell Avenue area, new welcome addition to Miami's burger offerings, and a leading New York chef opening an outpost in Overtown, all in Eating News for February.
We’ve gone beyond dreadful airline food to no food served onboard in economy class. Maybe that's a good thing. So we’re forced to BYO, unless we want to find ourselves famished and having to deal with the double no no of buying overpriced snacks that are usually high cal and low on nutrition. What to do? I asked leading travel bloggers their secrets about healthy travel snacks. Here are the findings which I plan to put in practice (better than my lone apple). And one writer even shares her recipe for the absolutely delicious sounding Amazing Apple Muffins pictured here.
In New York City, a place known for its pastrami sandwiches, Pop's Pastrami is a standout. I'm drooling just thinking about it.
Coconut Grove needs more very good restaurants and I am often at a loss at where to go there. So when I got word of a new chef, Ted Mendez, at Mayfair Kitchen, with a pedigree of Barton G, both his eponymous restaurant and the one at Villa Casuarina, I moved a visit to the top of my list.
Yours truly had a preview of the much anticipated uber three story Italian food hall La Centrale Miami in Brickell City Centre. Suffice it to say that this is the future of restaurants and food retail. You name it, they have it in the 40,000 square feet. 14 different Italian eateries. 5 bars. A personal shopper who will buy whatever ingredients you want from a special grocery list menu while you're eating -- and give you recipe cards on how to prepare those ingredients if you want ideas. A cooking and event studio. An entire floor designed for sommelier- led wine tastings and pairing, along with a wine shop featuring 500 labels. A performance stage for live music and entertainment. 1,000 Italian retail products. All of this officially opens February 16.
