Miami needed another top restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine. And we got it with Hutong which came here via Beijing, Hong Kong, London and most recently New York. The Northern Chinese fare is exciting, different in presentation and taste, and downright delicious. I left craving more. And then there's the handsome, original decor. It's definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Miami, and vies for the top spot. Today they opening for lunch along with dinner.
It’s time to give thanks! And lucky for South Florida diners, there are plenty of restaurants hosting Thanksgiving dinner in Miami  to commemorate the occasion. Waterfront restaurants aren’t easy to find in Miami, especially ones with good food. So when I learned of a new popup featuring Izakaya cuisine at The Standard , Miami Beach off I went. It was Friday night at 7:30 and it was packed. A very good sign that lived up to its promise.

La Petite Maison is a very attractive, stylish place. It also ranks up there on eye candy, as in people watching, and quality of food. So when I heard about a new Dejeuner D'Affaires (business) lunch special for $29  that included two appetizers, an entree, and an enticing selection of menu items, I was off and running. I enlisted a good friend who's French, and whose uncle headed up the prestigious Cordon Bleu school to be my lunch companion. We both agreed the lunch was outstanding.
Special "finds" this month for all -- a new addition to barber shops in Miami Beach and hidden cocktail lounge in one, new additions coming up at Brickell City Center, a fashion staple for travel I swear by, cool underground rum bar, Vegan food hall in the Grove, the debut of Lexus' first luxury yacht and more. Bern’s Steak House in Tampa is nationally reknowned for its prime steaks. In fact, it has become a site for a foodie pilgrimage over the years, almost a reason in itself for a trip to Tampa. And yes, the steaks are top notch and it’s an experience. But, what is less known is its Dessert Room which warrants Fabulous Friday status. We’re talking a 45 page dessert menu for starters. That’s just the beginning of the story.
