Sunday steak barbecue is a ritual for me, but other than that, I'm not a fan of "smokey" BBQ. And I seldom finish everything in my plate which is the way -- with difficulty -- I maintain my fashion blogger status. At least that was  until I went to Hometown BBQ Miami, an import from Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood. All my rules were broken, everything was so delicious. OMG the brisket sandwich and juicy lamb banh mi on a crusty baguette, not to speak of the corn biscuit.
Where to go for top lunch specials in Miami at quality places? We searched around all corners of Miami-Dade to find these well-priced options. Here's Part 2, picks in Miami Beach and Doral (Note: I didn't include well known solid specials like the ones at Milos, Novikov and La Petite Maison which I've written about before). For Brickell and Coral Gables, Part 1, click here.
Just in time for the holidays, there’s an addition to top restaurants in Coral Gables, that has all the right ingredients – quality products, handsome décor, lovely outdoor dining area, and very good service. When we went I saw very good friends dining there who qualify as being picky ex New Yorkers, and this was their fourth visit in a month. I can see why. In fact, two of the dishes rank among my favorites of the year. It’s Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille at the Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables.
Something for everyone in this month's Eating News including a jungle brunch, famous pizza import from Naples, art to table, Rubell Museum's coming restaurant, reopening of one of my favorite restaurants with a top view , news about the iconic Red Fish Grill at Matheson Hammock Park and sweet news for dessert lovers.
If you’ve only been to Trulucks Brickell's almost always packed Happy Hour, you’re only getting part of the experience. And if you haven’t been there at all, put it on your "need to go” list for your next celebration.  I've been there for a private event and happy hour before, but last week I finally got around to experiencing a full, proper dinner.
