I've been very busy this month coming up with all these wonderful Miami insider tips for February. We're talking everything from complimentary Rose happy hour for ladies at Novikov, a serious new ManCave with the works, and Little Havana's first rooftop bar and eatery to  a costume jewelry repair pro, terrific musical at M Ensemble Company on through February 23,  and more.
Rather than the obvious major art fairs, here are my picks for other events and happenings at Art Basel Miami 2019. Check them out: "hot' new Wynwood store described as a "retail destination and culture creator", art week workshop and private tours, two of my favorite 'other' art fairs,  stylish shopping and art nail popups at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and new private art museums opening this week. Note the first event is this Sunday!
A unique French Caribbean lifestyle pop-up boutique has come to Wynwood, and it's well worth a visit. But note it's only here until this Sunday. Find some of the leading and most creative fashion, beauty and cosmetic brands of Martinique and Guadalupe. I ended up buying an eye catching long white dress with a fitted bodice and flaired skirt and matching bandeau bathing suit that could be from Balenciaga or Prada at a fifth of the price. Then there's handsome resort footwear, a natural cosmetics line, and perfume and scents label. Loved the sunglasses and straw beach bags, too. Have a look:
Lots of "finds" this month, everything from an important tip about conserving photos and art, indulgent new fragrances from popular singer and songwriter Thalia, and buying fashion on instagram to a top spot for childrens' clothes and baby gifts. Also, Alexa comes to Miami's pool party scene and a valuable travel tip.
It’s that time again, spa lovers! Miami Spa Month 2019 when spa treatments and services typically costing $200+ are reduced to set prices as low as $99 along with value added features ranging from a hair and scalp treatment and beach chair to water features, discounts on other beauty services, and tai chi and yoga classes.  We’ve narrowed down all the offerings and curated a list of 11 spas just for you, including one in Hollywood. Happy Spa Month this August (and one hotel offers September as well)! And if you're reading this outside of spa month, these are  great spa picks anytime of year.
Summer is a great time to check out the latest beauty treatments and start a new routine to get in shape for “the season”. My hairdresser, the super talented Steven Schmidt who has coiffed the super models at Fashion Weeks from Milan to New York and Paris Couture, moved to a new salon and medspa, Danny Jelaca. He told me about the cutting edge skin treatments for men and women and uber mani pedis, and said it is one of the best hair salons in Miami,  so off I went to South Beach to check them out.
Fashion boutique finds, a fave new unisex beauty product, go to florist for low cost bouquets, jewelry repair, La Muse Cafe, and a not to be missed museum exhibit, all in Karens Kudos to start off the New Year right!
