1 Hotel & Homes South Beach is becoming one of the hot spots in town, almost always “buzzy”. They keep upping the ante, first snagging Tom Colicchio to oversee their restaurant, then getting a top New York boutique to move in, going after the cool crowd with the rooftop pool and restaurant Watr (see my writeup on Sunday Funday), and most recently, opening the first US outpost of luxe UK Bamford Haybarn Spa.
Believe me, I’ve tried everything to try to have long fingernails that don’t peel – from commercial products like Nailtique and a the Colombian product Quimica Alemana, to organic polishes. In my desperation, I’ve even cooked up home made remedies like infusing oil with garlic. As you can imagine, the culprit isn’t doing the dishes or chlorinated swimming pools. It’s – well, genes or whatever. So an email about new nail products was met with skepticism, but at the same time, hope springs eternal. And in this case, my hopefulness was borne out with success.

So when I had a chance to meet with Sophie Evans, a guru in self tanning for 19 years, I jumped at the opportunity.
