Yours truly wearing my fashion purchase on instagram. Photographed at I’ve Been Framed

Lots of “finds” this month, everything from an important tip about conserving photos and art, indulgent new fragrances from popular singer and songwriter Thalia, and buying fashion on instagram to a top kids store in Miami and baby gifts. Also, Alexa comes to Miami’s pool party scene and a valuable travel tip.

Have cherished photos that are deteriorating from sun damage? That was my situation. Then I found out about UV plexiglass thanks to a talk about taking care of art at ICA. Off I went to I’ve Been Framed at the suggestion of a prominent gallerist with my valuable photos I display along with an important art work. I had the museum quality UV plexiglass put in for the artwork and the regular UV plexiglass variety for the photos. The owner and staff at the framing shop were a delight to work with, efficient, and the work is well priced. Large selection of frames too. I’ve Been Framed, 733 SW 8th Avenue. They offer a 20% discount for first time walk in customers.

Thalia Sodi fragrances

I feel so indulgent when I spray myself all over with Thalia Sodi fragrance from the famous singer, songwriter and entrepreneur. It’s a light scent on my skin and clothes, unlike perfumes that announce your coming and going (that’s fine sometimes, depends on the occasion). Plus, you can feel comfortable spraying on a lot because of its reasonable price — 3.4 ounces for $58 on Amazon. In crystal like jewel tone bottles, the line includes five different scents and colorful bottles in purple, white, blue, pink, and yellow, each representing a gemstone. Thalia sodi is a glam addition to a vanity. My favorite fragrances are Azure Crystal, Blooming Opal and Liquid Sun.

Sneakers from instagram

Wondering about the quality of the fashion advertised on instagram? Grabbed by the blouses, sundresses and most recently shoes that the ads send my way, I finally succumbed, figuring that $24 for a jumpsuit wouldn’t represent a major mistake if it turned out to be noticeably poor quality or shrink at the first washing. I was delightfully surprised when the outfit arrived and fit respectably well, and was attractive (see for yourself in the picture). It also arrived within two weeks. I’m hooked now. If I liked these hightop sneakers they personalized in the ad, that would be purchase number two. What has your experience been?
