How do you like the sound of a top flight, freshly made meal of Asian American food you make at home just when you want it, for about $60 for three servings? How about a gift idea for foodies? Much better than takeout, it’s a new product line from fresh online market Good Eggs and star chef David Chang of the Momofuku group of restaurants and eateries. Momofuku at Home as it’s called, features Chang’s Asian American cult classics with signature sauces and a seasonal assortment of meal kits. I tried two of the entrees at home, following their super easy instructions along with everything, and I mean everything you need for the meal – from herbs and special salt and seasonings, to fresh vegetables and proteins. It was truly like eating in one of Chang’s restaurants at a fraction of the price.

Good Eggs is an online market offering an award-winning California-sourced food assortment, supporting organic farmers, makers and producers. Through its subsidiary GoodEggsSelect.com it offers the Momofuku meal kits and other gifts with nationwide delivery . Momofuku was founded by chef David Chang in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City. Credited with “the rise of contemporary Asian-American cuisine” by the New York Times and named the “most important restaurant in America” by Bon Appétit magazine, Momofuku has restaurants in the United States and Canada as well as a line of restaurant-grade products for home cooks.

The first dish we made was the Weeknight Bo Ssäm Pulled Pork – a dish that normally requires two days of cooking, but is ready in under 20-minutes with the Good Eggs Momofuku at Home meal kit. The pork came vacuum packed, so it can be kept for several days in the refrigerator. It came with organic bibb lettuce, kimchi, three sauces, and cooked white jasmine rice, all top quality ingredients. The final product was a lettuce wrap you fill with all of the delectable ingredients. ($59.99 – serves 3).

The other dish was the sheet pan soy marinated steak that came with steamed potatoes, chives, shallot, sour cream, savory seasoned salt and Momofuku soy marinade ($59.99 – serves 3). Another winner. Each kit comes with easy to prepare instructions and doesn’t require exotic kitchen utensils or tools for the making.

Other kits sold online include :
- Momofuku Korean Chicken Noodle Soup ($29.99)
- Momofuku Korean BBQ Kit ($59.99)
