MAASS
Why not expand your South Florida culinary horizon this summer and check out some of Fort Lauderdale’s leading restaurants and eateries.  Visit Lauderdale makes it more affordable with  “Dine Out Lauderdale” restaurant months. From now to September 30, over 140 restaurants throughout the destination will feature menus at $35, $45, $55 or a luxe option for $75 to please every palate.   Check out my suggestions to combine a meal at Fort Lauderdale restaurants  with an outing to make it a day.

Visitors and tourists alike can explore trendy rooftop bars, hidden gems, and international delicacies from Greek and Italian to Lebanese and Mexican dishes. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, indulgent steaks, or innovative plant-based cuisines, Dine Out Lauderdale offers something to tantalize every taste bud.
With more participating restaurants than ever before, foodies can choose from old favorites such as Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Jaxson’s Ice Cream and Parlor Restaurant, and Aruba Beach Cafe or explore some new options such as MAASS, Even Keel Fish & Oysterand Rock & Brews. Also new this year are creative classes and experiences, like the Fort Lauderdale Craft Food Tours, the “food as medicine” dinner at Evelyn’s Restaurant inside the Four Seasons, and a hands-on dumpling-making class at Temple Street Eatery.
Here’s an example of a deal from one of my “go to” places in Fort Lauderdale that’s participating, Casa Sensei.

Casa Sensei

Check it out: the Pan-Asian, Latin-fusion hotspot is serving up a delectable selection of dishes for Dine Out Lauderdale this year with a three-course menu in two price options, $35 and $45. Begin with a choice of appetizer, including the decadent Ahi Poke or CasaSensei’s homemade Argentinian Beef Empanadas with chimichurri for dipping. Each entree comes with choice of Miso Soup or House Salad and include creative plates from sushi rolls to rice bowls, such as the Truffle Butter Brunch Roll drizzled with clarified truffle butter, or the tender Mongolian Beef flavored with Casa Special Sauce and served with bok choy and jasmine rice. End the delicious dinner with a refreshing dessert perfect to end the summer: Almond Crunch Cake or Lemon Dream Cake.

And don’t forget about Greater Fort Lauderdale’s participating bustling food halls – Sistrunk Marketplace, Block40, and Baoshi – allowing attendees to savor many flavors under one roof.
Dine Out Lauderdale also offers an opportunity to explore Greater Fort Lauderdale’s  neighborhoods. This year’s restaurant partners are creating unique dishes in communities like Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Dania Beach, Lighthouse Point, Coconut Creek, Wilton Manors, Plantation, Weston, Oakland Park, Coral Springs, Davie and beyond.

And finally, if you don’t mind going a little further afield, don’t miss a fave place I often write about, The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach. If you’re a foodie, or just really appreciate fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoy the gourmet market experience, you must put a drive to The Boys Farmers Market on your “to do” list. There’s nothing even close to it in Miami in terms of variety and quality of fruits and vegetables, price point,  as well as having a wide selection of other food items in one place. Here’s Karen’s review.

Or go to one of  our great botanical gardens in South Florida. For a list, click here.
