Have you bought tickets on Ticketmaster to a concert from March through July? Ticketmaster is offering a choice of a refund, a credit for up to 150% of the face value of the tickets for future shows, or an option to donate the tickets to health care workers. The same terms also apply to Live Nation events and those from AEG. IMPORTANT! Ticketmaster is only offering this service from May 1 for a 30 day period.

Hudsonest limited edition napkins available in single packets or by subscription

An inexpensive way to add to the at home dinner experience (and with low maintenance) are some handsome printed paper napkins in limited editions.  I came across hudsonest, a NYC based company that does quality dinner, cocktail and guest towel napkins in a go-with-everything neutral design and others with eye popping color. You can order a package individually or by subscription (once a month, three months, etc). They’re priced at $15 for twenty dinner napkins; $13 for 15 guest towel napkins; and $10 for twenty cocktail napkins. For more information and designs, click here.

Restaurants and food wholesalers acting as grocery stores. Now you can buy higher quality food products, produce, condiments,  vegetarian favorites, meats, you name it, from restaurants. A number of places are selling their inventory to the public. Here’s a list courtesy of Eater Miami of 11 of them you may want to check out. https://miami.eater.com/maps/miami-restaurants-grocery-coronavirus

Limoncello

Here’s something different to do, make your own Limoncello, the popular Italian after dinner drink. It’s easy, and doesn’t require exotic ingredients. This recipe is from the chic Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese and its Roman restaurant, Settimo.

Recipe: Homemade Limoncello

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 quart  95% proof grain alcohol or 100% vodka

  • 2 ½ c water

  • 2 ⅛  c white sugar

  • 10 limes

  • Clove (optional)

  • 1 Cinnamon stick (optional)

  • 1-2 Cardamom pod (optional)

Preparation Instructions:

  1. With a peeler, lightly peel the skin from the lemons.

  2. Combine the alcohol with the skins in a glass container. Cover with plastic wrap or use an airtight lid. Let the container sit in a cool place for at least 4 weeks.

  3. After 4 weeks, remove the skins from the alcohol with a strainer and discard. Strain two more times to remove smaller bits of lemon. Set aside.

  4. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water and heat until dissolved. Set aside and let cool.

  5. Combine the infused alcohol with the cooled simple syrup.

  6. Add any optional ingredients before corking.

  7. Serve and enjoy!
