longines 1

One of the world’s leading equestrian show jumping series will make its debut in the US in Miami April 2-4 bringing Olympic level sport to the beach. The best riders in the world will compete for the Grand Prix trophy for the inaugural Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach, part of the beach’s Centennial celebration.

“To invite the best horse riders to compete in the exceptional surroundings of the most beautiful cities around the world” is the Tour’s mission. Other locations have ranged from Paris and London to Shanghai and Vienna.

The events will be held between 21st Street and 22nd Street on the beach behind the Setai Hotel. In addition to the equestrian events there will be a Prestige Village shopping area. Admission is free but it’s first come, first served, so get there early if you want a seat in the grandstand.

If you go during the week, try one of the three course lunch specials at Milos or Il Mulino or there’s also Vintro Kitchen, the Traymore and of course The Setai is always a good bet.
