Fall for the Arts, is the newest themed celebration created by The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), who has brought us everything from Miami Spa Months to Miami Spice and more. This three-month cultural celebration of Miami’s role as a global cultural leader runs from now through December 7. It includes everything from the visual and live performances to experiential art and community-driven activations. How to choose what Miami cultural events to attend -- dance company, music, theater performance or art exhibit to see ? Happily, there are lots to choose from! I thought you might find a list of the ones selected for awards by the Funding Arts Network (FAN), a leading non-profit organization, helpful in your planning for the 2025-2026 season. The list is of visual and performing arts groups that received a grant award. See below the works of winners by category, and at the end you can read more about FAN, of which I’m proud to be a member.

Volunteer Miami, opportunities abound. We've come up with an expanded and updated list in eight categories of organizations that would welcome our help, whether it's a one off thing or an ongoing commitment. This includes children and families, housing, business, museums, environment, animals, literary and nature. Besides doing good, volunteering can also give us opportunities to make new friends and make our community a better place to live.  Here are  local organizations for you to consider, what they're about, and ways you can help. It's an update of a previous post with new additions,  some of which you readers recommended when this was first published (thank you!). And now there's one which I'm volunteering for.
