Update December 2022: MILA has new dining, entertainment offerings and a private club membership. For more information, click here.
The MILA brunch is now one of the tops in Miami, especially if you sit in the handsome outdoor space with a massive water feature, two cabanas, and its own bar area. There’s unlimited luxury French champagne or fine rose, very good service, a delicious menu of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine with a generous selection of dishes, and attractive people watching. Looking for other brunch ideas? Stay tuned until the end of the post for a link to 20 others!

All of this is included in the one price, three options. The two hour experience with champagne starts at $95 – not cheap, but considering the quality, amount of food and the setting, it’s a good value. The champagne alone at dinner costs $95.

Indoors is attractive, too, a contemporary, artisanal aesthetic that’s serene and warm. It’s a fusion of Japan’s Wabi Sabi philosophy and Cycladic islands design. Beautifully worked light woods undulate on the walls, interspersed with untainted stones and punctuated with sculptures, paintings and ceramic art made of metal, clay and wood.

The price of the MILA brunch option varies according to the level of champagne and rose. Besides the $95 option there’s one for $135 with Laurent Perrier La Cuvee Rose NV and a third for $280 with Dom Perignon Brut 2013. Rose selections are of similar top quality. There’s also a non alcoholic package for $85. A choice of unlimited cocktails throughout the meal is included. Regardless of which one you choose, you get an assortment of whatever cold dishes you’d like among sushi offerings, warm dishes and dessert – as many as you want from the buffet.

We started with the branzino tataki with chili ponzu aioli that was swimmingly fresh and the avocado tartare, both solid choices.

So many good choices, so we passed on the sushi and went on to warm dishes, opting for vegetables which were all winners, including blistered shishito peppers, broccolini miso tahini and sesame,

eggplant, and crispy brussels sprouts with honey soy balsamic glaze and capers.

We enjoyed the entree of sweet spicy soy glazed salmon with tomato salad but gave the prize to the short rib, bone on kalbi with hearts of palm.

Dessert is a chef’s selection dessert platter with all matter of cakes and fruits. I felt like it was my birthday! On Sunday there are fashion popups, a different designer each week, my favorite — not your usual ubiquitous brands. It’s also the day of the bi-monthly antique and collectibles market on Lincoln Road Mall, so brunch and a walk around the market make for a wonderful outing.

The MILA Brunch is served Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. As I mentioned, guests are advised it’s a two-hour experience so you’re expected to leave the table. Never fear, If you want to continue the party, there are two bars so you can get after lunch drinks a la carte.
