What are the best dishes Miami 2014? It’s approaching year end and time for my annual list. This time I’ve increased the list to 12, couldn’t choose only 10 since there were so many terrific contenders. Appetizers, salads, side dishes as well as entrees qualify. Desserts had their own list. The two criteria were taste — number 1 – and presentation also figured in. Note, the list is in no special order and click on the restaurant name to read a full review. Without further adieu….
*Lamb osso bucco with truffle mashed potatoes – Cavalli Miami
*Risotto with truffle butter and fresh shaved summer truffle with 24 karat gold – Restaurant at The Setai
*Pork chop with kimchee, bacon and ginger apple puree – Morimoto
*Israeli quinoa salad with arugula, cranberry, hazelnuts, halloumi cheese, beet puree and tahini (Chef Frans does wonders with all veggies) – Essensia
*Sweet corn and Maine lobster chowder with fingerling potatoes, red pearl onions and Nueske bacon –Bourbon Steak
*Duck magret with wild mushroom risotto (every duck dish here is a standout) – Pied a Terre
