The over 200 year old House of Hennessy has come out with a cognac, Hennessy 8, in a limited edition, hand-blown Baccarat carafe and chest that will be hard to top.
The cognac was crafted jointly by Yann Fillioux and Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, 7th generation and 8th generation master blenders respectively, for the prestigious house. Hennessy 8 refers to the eight successive generations of Hennessy Master Blenders and a blend of eight eaux-de-vie with a selection of the cellar’s oldest. Robb Report called it “heavily floral with sharp citrus notes interlaced with smoked oak and creamy almonds”. The carafes, only 250 of them, are individually numbered and signed by Arik Levy. They come in a wooden chest made from barrel staves. The price? $39,000.
