FEATURED POSTS

Do I feature the best dishes of the year before year end or in January? I decided on the former. Why? Because now is the time most people go to dine out, before and during the holidays, so you may be looking for places to go. All of the restaurants whose dishes are featured have been recommended by me this year so are good bets for a special dinner out. This is in effect at "go to" list as well. I have put a link to my review in the name of places I've written up so you can learn more. Enjoy!
Some of Miami's iconic events are happening this month plus a very cool walk around Wynwood celebrating Mexico's Dia de los Muertos, a high profile exhibit at PAMM, Hindu Festival of Light celebration, special concerts, the jewelry and watch antique show and a  very special family hands on art series at ICA  Miami. Read all about them in Things to Do in Miami in November.
Lots of eating news in Miami as we round out October -- food festivals, new openings, deals, Zuccaly Italian food hall, an olive harvest festival menu, new rooftop restaurant with sports offerings, Haitian bakery and more. Read on!
Friends had told me there’s a “new” Tangier, and after a few wonderful days, it turns out they were completely right. Beyond the fascinating Kasbah and the rich culture—which instantly brings to mind the legends who helped make it famous, from Malcolm Forbes, Yves Saint Laurent, and Liz Taylor to Mick Jagger and Anthony Bourdain—it’s a city of grand parks, imposing mountain villas in what our guide called the “Beverly Hills” of Tangier, and chic boutique hotels blending Art Deco with Moroccan sensibilities. Here's my Tangier travel guide, from getting around and where to stay to where to eat and shopping.

Dining out in Miami isn’t getting any less expensive, but lunch can still be one of the best ways to enjoy some of the city’s top restaurants without the dinner price tag. From prix-fixe menus at buzzy restaurants to generous sushi combinations and all day menus where most dishes come in comfortably under $30, here are Miami lunch deals  that won’t break the bank. Restaurants that have a full review are indicated with an asterisk.
Since the last post on Little River Miami, lots has happened,  so it was time for an update with new restaurants and things to do along with the tried and true. As you'll read, there's plenty to do to spend a few hours or a day exploring. And in case you missed them at the end are links to other posts in my "A Day In" series. Enjoy!
Miami’s museum scene turns into an easy fall escape, offering everything from world‑class art and fashion design to pure, air‑conditioned fun. Families can wander through art museums, or cool off at the playful, Insta‑ready Museum of Ice Cream. The city also celebrates its rich diverse cultural landscape with museums dedicated to Black history, Cuban and Haitian culture, and Jewish heritage — all offering meaningful, engaging ways to spend a summer afternoon away from the sun and the rain.  Take note of the Historic Hampton House, a “green book” hotel and historic landmark featured in the film, One Night in Miami.  With so much to do and see, the only question is – what to do first?
Here's quite an assortment of things to do in Miami in October 2026 as the season starts to heat up, and some are free!
