Things in Miami are in full swing now (can’t you tell from the traffic!), so I”m doing a two part series on Things to Do in March, 2025. Here’s Part 1, Miami March events. In this post some of these kick off or happen this coming week!

Montreux Jazz Festival 

 

The iconic Swiss jazz festival returns to The Hangar at Regatta Cove in Coconut Grove for the Second Annual Montreux Jazz Festival running from Friday, Feb. 28 through Saturday, Mar. 2.

Founder and curator, Jon Batiste, plays a key role in bringing the Montreux Jazz Festival to Miami and headlines this year’s festival. Batiste is a five-time Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-winning singer, songwriter and composer,

 

Other headliners include singer, songwriter, rapper and actress Janelle Monáe and Afro-Cuban “La Descarga” (improvised jam session) hosted by Batiste and Cuban star and 2024 Latin Grammy Record of the Year nominee Cimafunk, with Alfredo Rodriguez, Cimafunk & La Tribu, Pedrito Martinez, Robe L Ninho, Wampi, Yissy Garcia and more to be announced.

The festival also includes the return of the legendary Montreux Jam Session each night, curated by Batiste and featuring his band, Stay Human, as well as a series of masterclasses available to VIP ticket holders.

A selection of Miami’s best restaurants will be on-site, including two Michelin-starred Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa’s, Sereia, and Celia’s, known for their smash burgers.

Single-day tickets begin at $169, with VIP tickets at $569 and Legend tickets at $999. Payment plans available.

Miami Sunshine Tango Festival

 

Get your tango on with Miami Sunshine Tango Festival.  Enjoy three days of Argentine Tango in Sunny Isles Beach from Friday, Mar. 7 – Sunday, Mar. 9. Enjoy Argentina’s hottest orchestras and professional dancers for a weekend packed with live music, performances, lessons, beachside milongas and gala evening events.

 

Join guest maestros and maestras, Giselle Anne, of the “Casa del Tango” in Seville, Spain, Fausto Carpino and Stephanie Fesneau and Virginia Gómez and Christian Márquez, known as “Los Totis,” known for their precision, quality of movements, elegance and musicality.

 

Guest artists include Adrian Veredice and Alejandra Hobert, Noelia Guerrero and Martin Cardoso, the Official 2023 USA Argentine Tango Champions, Diego Blanco and Marta Renata Adamczyk known for her tango style and biomechanics stretching technique.

 

Live Argentinian orchestras include La Dissarliana Orchestra with Chino L., playing great milonga hits of the 40s and 50s, Tango Bardo Orchestra with Roberto Minondi as well as music by live DJs, including DJ Rod Relucio of Chicago, DJ Iv Manos from Greece,  New York DJ Cigdem “Ciko” Tanik and Miami’s own DJ Yanira Callado, “ La Pantera.”

 

Miami Sunshine Tango Festival (MSTF 2025) will be held at the Ramada Plaza Marco Polo Beach Resort, 19201 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160.

26th Annual Carnaval on the Mile in Coral Gables

 

Carnaval comes to the Miracle Mile for two days of fun in the heart of Coral Gables.  Entertainment includes local art, live music, a variety of food options and children’s entertainment. Saturday, Mar. 1, and Sunday, Mar. 2, on Miracle Mile.  Admission is free.  Event begins at 10:00 a.m.

Villagers Garden Tour

Villagers Annual Garden Tour

 

The 32nd Villagers’ Garden Tour, “Spring Blooms,” showcases exceptional private gardens in the Pinecrest and Ponce/Davis area.  Each property offers garden-lovers a glimpse into the homeowners’ personal tropical paradise. Villagers and garden experts will be on hand to explain the special features and plant varieties at each location.

The boutique features unique artisans, vintage jewelry, hand-crafted items, baked goods, garden-related gift items and, of course, plants. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., an hour after the tour ends. A Rita Tennyson pop-up café will also be on-site, offering food for purchase.

Tickets are $50 and may be purchased from Villagers’ members or through Eventbrite. The day of the tour, tickets will be available for $55 at the gift boutique/check-in site: Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11295 SW 57th Ave. in Pinecrest.

Miami March Events: Seminole Hard Rock Concerts

 

Some of the biggest names in music are coming to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in March.

 

See Diana Ross live in concert Friday, Mar. 21 at 8:00 p.m.

 

If you’re old enough, you’ll remember Diana Ross as a member of the all “girl-group,” The Supremes during Motown’s heyday in the 1960s and one of the most successful groups of the era with hits like “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “Why Did Our Love Go,” and “Can’t Hurry Love,” – all classics and part of the American culture.

 

Now, a global icon, and legend, Ross will perform these hits and a number of her solo hits including “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Touch Me in the Morning,” “I’m Coming Out,” “Love Hangover,” and “Thank You” from her most recent album.
