Curio by Faena, site of the Norma Kamali PopUp

For my tastes, one of the top American fashion designers is Norma Kamali that was always on my list of boutiques to visit when I went to New York. Now she closed her store there but good news! There’s a popup of her fashion here in Miami November 15-17. It’s at CURIO at Faena Bazaar, 3400 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. It’s open from 10 a.m. to   8 p.m.  And while you’re there, plenty of other top designer fashions and accessories to check out for women and men. There’s valet parking and a lot across the street.

Don’t miss the exhibit now at VISU Contemporary, a fine art gallery in Miami Beach, of extraordinary photographer “Pari Dukovic: En Pointe – Dance & Fashion,” on view  to November 16, 2024. It features 25 photographs by award-winning photographer Pari Dukovic, on view in a gallery space for the first time. The artworks feature a decade of nearly 30 high-fashion designers’ costumes created for the New York City Ballet’s annual fashion gala performances initiated by Sarah Jessica Parker, which Dukovic shot on 11 of the ballet’s renowned dancers for the Rizzoli book, New York City Ballet: Choreography & Couture, released last year.

The images capture the ethereal beauty and strength of the dancers juxtaposed with the handmade detail and sophistication of the haute couture fashion. Striking color and arrested movement portraits create a visually immersive experience in the space. VISU Contemporary is the first to exhibit these dazzling photographs, available for sale exclusively through the gallery.

Other notable designers whose costumes appear in the exhibition include Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Valentino, Gareth Pugh, and Zac Posen.
