Spanish tapas in Miami, tapas lovers take note! Thanks to the tourist office of New York and Miami in cooperation with Spain Fresh, both cities will be the site of the first US Tapas Week June 11 to 18. (And if you can’t go those dates, this is a guide too to some of the best tapas in Miami). The Festival will overlap with World Tapas Day 2023 on June 16th. Thirteen restaurants in Miami from Downtown, The Falls, Miami Beach and Coral Gables to Allapattah and Brickell area will be participating, offering everything from special tapas menus with a discount, a prix fixe option, or some other promotion. Restaurants include Xixon, Casa Juancho, Madrid Tapas y Vinos, Bulla, Mistico, Mareva 1939, Leku, Estacion Central, Barceloneta, Tropezon, El Manchego, Espanolita, and Lur Basque Cuisine.
Highlights of the offerings are:
- Bulla Gastrobar in its locations in Coral Gables, The Falls, and Doral is offering a three course tapas menu plus dessert for $40 per person. There’s a choice of five tapas in each course, favorites like croquetas de jamon, montaditos, bistec a la parilla, albondigas and many more.
- Madrid Tapas y Vinos entices with seven different tapas and a glass of sangria for $42 per person (two person minimum) plus flamenco and rhumba shows five nights a week. Tapas include surtido de pinchos, garbanzos fritos and piquillos rellenos.
- Casa Juancho has prime offerings including gambas al ajillo, jamon iberico, pulpo a la gallega, and more with a glass of wine and dessert for $55 per person.
- Leku is ffering a pintxo box, pick 3 from a choice o 13 plus a side of potato and sweet potato chips and Estrella Damm beer or soda. Choices include boquerones y pan tumaca, bocadillo de cinco Jotas con tomate, cazuela de hongos al ajillo, cordero rebozado en pan de leche (add $4) and more. $28 per person
5. Mareva 1939 in the National Hotel has five courses with a choice of home made sweets. Offerings include embutido Iberico (charcuterie), baby kale salad, patatas bravas, steamed mussels, and artichoke and wild mushroom paella.
