Lunch deals at stylish new restaurants are always welcome news, and especially at these two new options including one of the new Wynwood restaurants. Plus, a well priced four course winter black truffle dinner coming up!
Go to Fiola , one of the best Coral Gables restaurants, and you’ll see this is a new favorite spot for the ladies who lunch from the Gables and Pinecrest, joined by some men doing business lunches. Fiola is the second location of the namesake Michelin-starred Italian restaurant from Washington D.C. The food features contemporary interpretations of classic dishes, artfully presented with liberal use of edible flowers.
They have a three course Maria Lunch Special that includes an heirloom tomato salad, delicious branzino with red peppers marinate, taggiasche olives and capers and a pretty as a picture dessert of strawberries, lemon basil, spong cake and key lime sorbetto. Price, $32 per person. If you go with a friend, I strongly recommend one of you gets the special and the other the signature house dish, a standout lobster ravioli with an appetizer or salad. No lack of wine choices here, thanks to a 8000+ bottle wine cellar that is part of the decor. And note on Sunday there’s a jazz brunch with performances by the University Frost School of Music students. 1500 San Ignacio Avenue (T. 305-912-2639).
Doma southern Italian restaurant is another handsome new spot, the newest of Wynwood restaurants for fine dining. Recently opened for lunch, it features a garden courtyard. Doma Miami has an impressive pedigree, with an Executive Chef from Naples, Vincenzo Salvatore, who has worked with Michelin star chefs from the Amalfi Coast to Bodrum, Turkey and at Atelier Robouchon in Paris.
He makes an impressive team with the talented and charming Manager Luca Lomonaco who most recently was at Forte dei Marmi. Their lunch special, at $23, includes a choice of heirloom tomato salad, yellowfin tuna tartare or beef tartare for a starter; and choice of swordfish, chicken or macceroncini with tomato sauce. For an additional $5 you can add pannacotta or tiramisu or a glass of red or white wine. Everything was fresh and tasty and well presented. 35 NE 26th Street (T.786-953-6946).
In case you missed it, here’s a link to an earlier post on other lunch specials at top spots.
