note from Karen, dec. 19, 2023, the Gramercy has permanently closed.
The Gramercy on Miracle Mile has a crowd pleasing formula with its ambiance and American brasserie style menu, in great favor these days judging by the growing number of new restaurants featuring the elevated comfort food. A difference here is a contemporary spin along with a sushi menu helmed by a former Nobu chef in this, one of the new restaurants in Coral Gables. It’s a solid outdoor dining choice too.
Dishes range from steak tartare, escargots and truffle caviar deviled eggs to creative entrée salads, and garganelli boscaiola pasta with cream sauce, pancetta, cremini mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, green peas and Parmesan cheese ($23). Also on tap are pan seared salmon served with sorrel cream reduction ($32) and “The Gram” Burger made with Waygu beef served on a potato bun ($24).
Favorite dishes on recent visits for lunch and dinner include the steak tartare ($21); the Caviar roll composed of salmon, caviar, yuzu den miso sauce and truffle oil ($56); a wonderful signature salad, the Gramercy, made with shrimp, chorizo, sun dried tomatoes and assorted vegetables and greens ($18); and the Instagram worthy deconstructed banana split ($28).
From the signature drink menu, don’t miss the Smoke & Mirrors with rye whiskey, Montenegro amaro, cynar, orange bitters and truffle tincture ($18). In the former space of Tarpon Bend, the totally new décor is a cross between a brasserie and saloon with whimsical touches.
If social distancing is important to you, never fear as there’s a good selection of outdoor dining. For my taste the best seats in the house are in the outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. The very wide sidewalks enable tables adjacent to the façade and near the curb with plenty of space in between for pedestrians, making it ideal for people watching while being socially distanced. The Gramercy, 65 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. Open for lunch and dinner daily. Valet parking is $8.
And while you’re in the neighborhood, check out the handbag exhibit at the Coral Gables Museum. It’s well done, and great fun!

Hi Karen
I have a friend that is looking for a great place (food and ambiance) in South Beach for Sunday brundh
Any recommendations?
MILA has a rooftop restaurant with lovely outdoor seating and they serve lunch. Other suggestions are Watr at the 1 Hotel. The food is poolside kind of fare but the view is fabulous. Also, the Baia Beach Club which I just wrote about.
How exiting! A beautiful new place in Coral Gables!
I am definitely going to ask my friends to join me for lunch!
Thank you Karen for giving us such good tips!!????
