On Saturday, January 30 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Galleria of the Coral Gables Museum , 285 Aragon Avenue, will become a marketplace of gourmet and professional kitchen, bar and entertaining items, from pots and pans to dishes, small appliances,  and more. All are gently used and donated by either members of Les Dames D’Escoffier Miami or some major Miami hotels. Plus, it’s for a very good cause. Come by and say hello as I’ll be helping out at the event. 

Want some new cookbooks? Not only will you find a good assortment, but also,  some signed by the authors.And even if you don’t like to cook, you just like to eat well, there are baked goods, jams, and even jerky available for purchase. Everything is grown or prepared by the Dames themselves.

On average, items are 50-75% less than retail price.

Admission to this, the most unusual of the garage sales Miami  (and parking) is free. The Dames take cash and credit cards. On the subject of Les Dames, did you know you don’t have to be a member of the professional society to go to the social events and get reduced admission to others? You can become a Bon Ami (good friend) of Les Dames for $75 a year. Proceeds from the sale benefit the LDEM, which is a non-profit organization comprised of female culinary, wine, hospitality, and farming professionals dedicated to funding scholarships for local underprivileged women interested in pursuing a career in culinary arts. The Dames also sponsor organic school vegetable gardens and support educational programs for area youth and South Florida’s farm labor force.
