What does MiamiCurated do on vacation? Check out art, fashion, design and culture where I travel (where possible with a beach break too). One of the top places to do this – Milan. Here’s a photo gallery of some of the more exciting finds:
As luck would have it, my trip coincided with the Triennale International Exhibition showcasing what they bill as “21st Century, Design after Design” in architecture, art, fashion and performances. A highlight was the Design Museum which hosted an exhibit of the work of Italian Women in Design (runs until February next year) and another with works from Korea and Japan and innovative designs for one room housing. Here are some of my favorites from the show. along with creative fashions from shops on Via Corso Como, site of the famed concept store 10 Corso Como; a high rise condo as garden in the futuristic Porta Nuova area, well worth a stop in itself; and art works from a current show on modern and contemporary Italian art at the Museo del Novecento showcasing Lucio Fontana, Mimmo Palladino and Umberto Boccioni, famed Italian futurist. The Triennale runs until 12 September. To see more, including faves from a trip to Bologna, check out my instagram, https://instagram.com/miamicurated.
