One of the best curated fashion boutiques in town happens to be Violet & Grace in the 1Hotel South Beach. The clothes and accessories for men and women in this boutique on Miami Beach are perfect for a Miami sophisticate’s day at the beach or night on the town. The shop is the creation of German born model Ina Lettmann who has appeared in campaigns for Victoria’s Secret, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. She describes the fashion as combining feminine with an effortless sexy, yet edgy touch. A few blocks away is another shop well worth a visit, the boutique in the W South Beach.
The moodboard includes curated pieces from tastemaker as well as emerging designers Aquazzura, Chloe, Golden Goose, IRO Paris, Jonathan Simkhai, RTA, Zimmermann and more. This is the first in a series on the best hotel boutiques in town, another reader story idea.
A favorite item were their feather light python tote bags, made exclusively for the store. They come in three sizes, in black, white, pale pink and blue. People are buying them for the beach, for their laptops, and they also work from day to night (from $850 to $1400).
Another favorite are the leather fashions and accessories including shorts, sharp dresses, and boots.
Also find stylish solid color beach coverups and tops, lingerie, sport shirts for men and a selection of black dresses for evening.
In looking through the racks, it’s like a treasure hunt – a serendipitous find that will make you swoon. Mine was the very much in style lounging robe with a look alike fur trim. There’s a limited but well chosen selection of sneakers including the star burst models from Venice (like Ishikawas), sexy heels for clubbing, and iridescent flip flops.
Need a gift item? Find the line of the French Fornasetti candles whose black and white ceramic holders are keepers after the candle is used (from $195). Then there’s the best selling French MEMO cologne line with fragrances like honey flowers ($250).
As you can imagine, don’t expect low prices. But then again, for the style and quality, it’s less than what you’d find in a global luxury brand store.
