As part of an ongoing look at the best shops in Miami, from new designers and shopping destinations, to existing shops that have upped their game, here are two favorites with new collections that you’ll want to check out. This includes 120%Lino with clothing and accessories for men and women in three locations, and the well known Kirk Jewelers, now in expanded quarters in Brickell City Centre and offering exciting new lines.
120% Lino has always been a “go to” fashion boutique for quality classic linen fashion and timeless accessories, all for men and women. Thus, its success. If you’ve been in the past and even if you haven’t, it’s well worth a visit to check out the new “Just for Us” collection that’s so now. They have taken their game up more than a notch, with a fashion style that the Italians do so well. Think a baby blue, long sleeveless linen dress with a flowing silk panel; white linen jacket with beaded epaulets and pockets;
combo linen and jersey blouses; adorable navy blue linen pinstripe shorts;
and soft summer cashmere sweater poncho. For men there are linen hoodies and polos and suede moccasins.
This is in addition to all the solid “basics”, from shirts and blouses to tunics, linen jeans and deconstructed jackets in lovely pastels and neutral shades and prints with some fuschia and tangerine thrown in.
Then there are the Italian accessories, exclusive to the brand. This includes handmade resin chain necklaces and bracelets that are light, fold, and are perfect for travel. I was pleasantly surprised to see they feature Angela Caputi creations as I bought a few pieces in Florence years ago, still enjoy them, and didn’t know where in Miami I could find the line. Also find a selection of handbags including the very popular Chanel-like raffia made in Florence. It’s just the right size for day to evening, light, and roomy. Find the shop in the Village of Merrick Park, Brickell City Centre, and Aventura Mall.
Kirk Jewelers, a downtown fixture for over 70 years has also seriously upped its game in its new over 50% larger space in Brickell City Centre. Before now it has been best known for being the authorized retailer in Miami for Rolex, Patek Philippe and Tudor, along with a wide variety of valuable services for watches, jewelry repair, engraving, and appraisals. Also popular have been their key brands including Roberto Coin, Chimento and Frieda Rothman.
Now, part of the big news is KirkCOUTURE, rings, necklaces and earrings made of rare white and fancy colored diamonds and precious gem stones such as emeralds, rubies and sapphires. They’re all handcrafted and made to order in collaboration with a leading atelier in California. Prices range from $50-$200K and can go beyond that depending on the stone selection. Another new line is Phillips House, a fashionable, playful take on “convertible jewelry” and it’s made in Miami. Pieces can be worn in different ways. They also have a sizeable collection of bridal jewelry. Kirk Jewelers, 701 South Miami Avenue, Level 3.
