A welcome new destination for a night out or a nightcap is Art Deco gem The National Hotel with its wonderful Blues Bar. Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 8:30 to 12:30,  the lobby hums with LIVE! at the National, the jazz sounds of David Attelan and The Magic Vocals.  Attelan, an award-winning composer, has produced, composed or arranged for musicals such as “Le Sel et le Miel,” “Fiddler on The Roof,” “Piaf,” and “Grease,” His band entertains with Attelan on the piano accompanied by a guitarist, saxophone player and singer with a range of favorites from jazz, blues, and pop to Broadway. There’s some of the 40’s glamour along with comfortable chairs, tables for 2 and 4,  and an area that’s at once spacious yet intimate. Light bites are served from the hotel’s Tamara restaurant.
