You’re Invited: Cuban Dinner Party and Book Signing, May 22

 

 

You’re invited to join me at a dinner party at Books and Books in Coral Gables featuring a menu of traditional Cuban cuisine with a contemporary twist. Recipes are from the just-published book by Patty Morrell Ruiz, The Essential Cuban Cookbook. Patty is the founder of the Mad Table, and is a  chef instructor, food stylist, and recipe developer.  Culinary society  Les Dames d’Escoffier’s South Florida chapter, is the host of the event, which is open to guests. The dinner will feature a four course menu of recipes from the book, a book reading and signing on May 22 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Braised Shredded Beef with side of Cuban Black Beans and Rice

The menu includes a glass of wine; Garlic Shrimp; Avocado, Pineapple and Watercress salad; Braised Shredded Beef with side of Cuban Black Beans and Rice; Cream Cheese Flan, and Cuban Coffee.

Also offered as a main course vegetarian option is Black Beans and Rice with Avocados and Sweet Plantains.

The price person including service charge and a copy of the book signed by the author is $75; without the book, the lunch is $60. Tax on the book is additional.
