When a good friend told me about Nu Deco Ensemble I had thought it was about contemporary music as in atonal, lacking in melodic verses (think Philip Glass). Not my thing. Was I ever wrong. True, as they say, it has classically trained musicians for the most part, but traditional classical music is part of the repertoire that also blends it with all or a combo of pop, jazz, and big band sounds. Sometimes works include art and media collaborations.  The conductor is cool, young, and exudes enthusiasm. The audience of all ages was loving it as did I. We went once, enjoyed it so much, that the next day booked tickets for the next concert, a Global Cuba Fest.
