Dirty French Steakhouse Miami is made for the Magic City, a fancy steakhouse experience with its high gloss, eye popping décor, buzzy ambiance, indulgent menu items and wine list, and service captains dressed in custom designed pink tuxedos. It’s a great place for a celebratory meal with its buzzy ambiance, combo of delicious steakhouse and French classic dishes, and tableside preparations with a flourish. Not surprising that a restaurant with this kind of personality comes from the Major Food Group known for Carbone, Sadelle’s and The Grill in New York City where we enjoyed an outstanding prime rib presented in a way that hearkened back to the Four Seasons restaurant in the 80’s.
Brickell is becoming a serious dining destination . Recently, on the heels of Hutong, comes Osaka showcasing Peruvian Nikkei cuisine. This is the first US outpost of the restaurant group which hails from multiple locations in South America. Nikkei is a fusion of cooking traditions of the Japanese diaspora who settled in Peru in the 19th and 20th centuries and fused their traditions with local ingredients and cooking styles. It takes the simplicity of Japanese cuisine and blends it with the rich flavors of Peruvian cooking.
Some of the most exciting food I’ve had in Miami of late was at the recently opened Coya, 999 Brickell Avenue (T.305-415-9990). And then there were all of the beautiful people, many Latins and Euros, who are members of the Coya Club in London and Dubai. We went as part of “friends and family”, a soft opening to fine tune the service and operation and we loved it.
