This is the season for dancing in Miami, especially with friends in town for the holidays. We have our picks of the top ten places to go. There are choices for everyone -- from a mellow lounge setting and partytime with a DJ to shows, and of course the Magic City's own salsa.
It’s a great time of year to go on a Staycation to the Florida Keys – much less traffic, off season hotel rates, and no problem getting a reservation at choice spots. This year it’s even better with everything from new hotels Key West including a luxury all inclusive, the Keys’ first; more excursions and attractions by land and sea; and places to grab a beer or mojito and enjoy the sunsets. And get this, a new Hemingway Literary Day Trip to Havana from Key West International Airport. Here’s the scoop:
Lots of May events Miami , from free music performances and chef-led cooking classes, to historic film presentations, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and various art events. Looking for something new to do in the Magic City? Try one of these events, listed below. We love them—and we think you will, too!
As they say, the beat goes on in Miami this month, from spring garden festivals and cultural events (including one with Yo Yo Ma), to a family evening under the stars, fitness happening, unique dinners and more. Looking for April events Miami? Check out our list below. We love them—and we think you will, too!
More events not to miss this weekend, a top of the line knife sharpening service, free art tour, update on shops at Dadeland including a leading Italian lingerie brand, and more in Karen's Kudos for March.
Cabaret meets burlesque, meets Cirque de Soleil, with audience dancing too. That’s the new, not to be missed show Sensatia at the Faena Hotel. Presented in Faena Theater in collaboration with Quixotic, a performance collective, it fuses film, live music, impressive acrobatics, aerialist choreography, projection mapping, and culinary arts in an intimate theater where performers interact with guests.
Love bike riding and want some guidance on where to find the best tours and bike rentals too? Look no further because here are the top bike tours Miami from self-guided to guided around Wynwood, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Little Havana and Miami Beach.
The revival of the Little Havana neighborhood has been drawing plenty of attention lately, thanks to a variety of businesses that kicked it off a year or two ago, and the others that have followed suit recently. You can get your sweet fix, enjoy a craft beer, dine al fresco in a garden setting or dance the night away in front of a pineapple shaped stage. Most of the spots you need to visit are the result of a love and passion that Miami’s Cuban-American community has to bring the neighborhood an injection of new life. Here are some of the new spots and other classic favorites. Any others you'd recommend?
With spring here it’s time when we locals start to go swimming in the ocean, enjoy less traffic in Miami Beach, and fewer crowds in restaurants. It’s also the time hotel rates drop. So, thought we, why not go on a “staycation” in Miami Beach for the weekend. We’d do things like spend the afternoon at the beach, go bike riding on the promenade, check out a new deli, go to a new restaurant and entertainment venue and take in a movie. Sounds like fun? It was. And, we should say, we wanted to stay at a prime South Beach location (23rd and Collins) but not pay prime hotel prices. We didn't care about the "see and be seen" place to be. Our destination, the Gates South Beach.
