Reviews of new restaurant openings including Casa Tua Cucina Wynwood, “Meet me at Milos “spritz and aperitivo special, a Dubai chewy cookie, new top spot for coffee lovers with a Norwegian dessert, first Cuban restaurant to get a Michelin star and a bundle for non alcoholic beverage lovers to enjoy during the World Cup, all in Eating News in June 2026, Part 1.

Here’s a perfect thing to do on a summer evening, thanks to iconic Greek restaurant Milos. We went and really enjoyed it. It’s Meet Me at Milos, a special summer promotion featuring a limited collection of spritzes distinctly inspired by Greek islands, alongside a light aperitivo menu designed to complement the sip. The program is offered at Milos locations nationally including Miami and West Palm Beach.
Built around the citrus, botanicals, and herbs native to Greek islands the spritzes are named Naxos, Mykonos, Kythira, Symi, and Aegean. We tried several and each was different and delicious, with exciting flavors, better than any spritzes we’ve ever had. .

You can choose to enjoy the spritz with a light bite featuring dishes like fresh oysters, octopus crostini, salmon tartare, tiropitakia (cheese pastries) and Greek ceviche on endive with feta cheese. To accompany them they serve sourdough toast with olive oil and fresh oregano. We tried them all, and each was tasty and obviously made from top quality ingredients which Milos is known for. And whatever you do, get an order of the Milos special, fried zucchini with pieces of cheese that’s a signature dish here. The zucchini is perfectly fried and should be an illicit pleasure it’s so good. Service is very professional and friendly. We especially liked Refik.
Meet me at Milos is available daily for lunch and dinner. A spritz is $20 and paired with an aperitivo it’s $29. For my earlier review on Milos, click here (note though that the tent dining is no longer offered; all dining is indoors).

If you like Casa Tua Cucina in Brickell City Centre you’ll love the new one in Wynwood. It’s much more spacious and more relaxing than its Brickell sister with 18,500 square feet including indoor and outdoor space for 400 guests. The quality of what we ate for lunch was very good, plus, the variety was formidable –the menu was five pages with each page choc a block with lists of dishes.

Ten stations at Casa Tua Cucina Wynwood, each with different dishes of local and international dishes including pasta, pizza , salumi and panini, crudo and sushi, grill, frutta & verdura, dolci, cafe & gelato, il mercato and bread. For those who haven’t been to either one, as the name implies, it’s a working kitchen, not one but several. Diners sit at long tables, banquet style. Waiters bring the dishes to the table rather than a DIY.

My European friend who lives part of the year in Italy had the octopus carpaccio – thin cut octopus with onions that she dubbed “fantastic” ($26). I had the lamb chops which were superb – tender and perfectly grilled ($53). To go with it I ordered the grilled vegetables which tend all too often to be hastily chopped up and grilled.

Not here, the pieces were prepared with tender loving care. ($14) We then shared one of my fave pastas, rigatoni with vodka and cream. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce seasoned just right ($31). Dessert choice was tough, as there were so many options. We settled on a key lime pie that we both enjoyed ($12).
A glass of wine starts at $16 and bottles at $55. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m..

Emelina, the 16-seat tasting-menu restaurant in West Palm Beach’s historic Flamingo Park District, made culinary history at the 2026 Michelin Guide Florida ceremony, becoming the first Cuban restaurant to be elevated to Michelin-Star status and receiving Palm Beach County’s only Michelin star awarded restaurant. The recognition arrives less than four months after the restaurant’s February 2026 debut, making Emelina among the youngest restaurants ever to earn a Star in Florida and placing Cuban cuisine — long celebrated for its soulfulness but rarely positioned on the global fine-dining stage — squarely in the international culinary conversation for the first time.
Dubai chocolate in all different forms is the big thing as you’ve probably read. I’ve held out and now I understand why. It’s so I could be “initiated” with the special edition Dubai chewy cookies, thanks to Cookie Head, formerly known as Blueprint Cookies. Dubai Chewy Cookie features a decadent pistachio crunch filling wrapped in chocolate marshmallow and rolled in sweetened cocoa powder for the ultimate sweet bite. You bite in and you know you’re enjoying a decadent pleasure, not just the flavor but the perfect texture of soft yet crunchy. Cookie Head also has some crave-worthy cookies, brownies, cupcakes, house-made soft serve, signature milkshakes, and Brain Freezes™. I tried a number of their supersize cookies including Nutella red velvet, cookie butter cheesecake, golden oreo cookies and cream and more.
And are they ever delicious. My favorite is the Brookie ($7), a combo of brownie and cookie. An individual cookie is from $5.50 to 6 or get a box of 4 for $20; 6 for $28.50; 12 for $54. In South Florida find Cookie Head in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, and you can order online with delivery. They also cater.
With all of the coffee bars in Miami now what could a new entry possibly do/be to set itself apart from the rest in an exciting way. Well, Black Sheep coffee that just opened in Grove Central in Coconut Grove and soon to come in Doral and Miami Beach has done it well. And no surprise it’s a big success, operating 140 locations globally. Points of difference? Some unusual varieties like 100% Robusta known for being stronger, smoother and higher in caffeine ( I had a cup from India); ceremonial grade Matcha; and delicious thin crepe like Norwegian waffles made into a sandwich with the likes of Nutella, fruits and more; and acai bowls, a new twist on an ice cream sundae.
And get this, you can add healthy supplements to the coffee like lions mane, pro- biotics and collagen. They also offer smoothies, sandwiches and pastries and sell the coffee beans. It’s open daily 6 a.m. to 10 pm . There’s indoor and outdoor seating. They’re in the Coconut Grove Central high rise shopping mall, ground level so find parking there or street parking nearby,

When I learned that Seia is part of the “family” of The Bastion Collection – Michelin starred restaurants Le Jardinier and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, I had to have a look. Off I went to the 54th floor atop 830 Brickell Avenue across from Brickell City Centre. No surprise, everything said “quality”, from the Italian modern decor and oh so perfectly starched white tablecloths with fresh flowers on each table, to the serious art collection featuring major works by Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Richard Prince among others. Everyone couldn’t have been more welcoming as well.

As you can imagine, it being on the 54th floor, the views were serious – of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. It’s also a combo, as in on one floor the restaurant and up above it an invitation only membership club. So I was happily surprised that with this setting, there is a reasonably priced lunch special weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p,m. , three courses with appealing selections for $45 including an antipasto, piatto forte and dolce. A glass of wine or a cocktail starts at $20. Note though that valet is $35 (for four hours) but the metromover stop at Brickell City Centre is a block away.
