Even if the Miami heat has passed, it’s still a good excuse to indulge with ice cream. And our restaurants are right there for us with WOW sundaes, milkshakes, and new flavors. There’s also new LA hot spot Go Greek Yogurt that opened in Miami World Center and in Coconut Grove. Check out my picks of the wows, for the best ice cream in Miami. Note that menus change so if you’re going for the ice cream, check that it’s still on the menu before you go.
Go Greek Yogurt import from Los Angeles is already hot though they just opened, according to my son who is a mega food influencer. They offer three flavors — plain tart, Greek honey, chocolate and three rotating seasonal flavors. Plus find 19 toppings and another 12 premium toppings, smoothies, and yogurt bowls. The existing locations are at 851 NE First Ave, Suite 118 and a second at 3000 Florida Ave., Suite 114 in Coconut Grove.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Miami icon Azucar Ice Cream in Little Havana. If the colorful ice cream cone sculpture that adorns the front of the building doesn’t grab you then certainly the unique flavors and Cuban Miami sayings emblazoned on t-shirts sure will. That’s Azucar’s allure and it’s been drawing ice cream lovers in since 2011. Sure their Abuela Maria ice cream is their signature flavor, filled with bits of guava and Abuela Maria cookies (it’s even trademarked), but there are dozens of other Miami-inspired flavors plus classics and sorbets. They pride themselves on buying their mamey fruit from the nearby Los Piñarenos fruit stand and other fruits from local farmer’s markets and Redland growers. They actually have a platano Maduro flavor and you bet those sweet plantains are local, as well as the mango and avocado flavors.
