You long time readers know by now that I love desserts (and many of you do too judging by all the views my dessert posts get). Not only do I love desserts, but I crave something sweet at the end of the meal. So, you ask, how do I reconcile that with my need to watch the calories? When I’m in a restaurant, the answer is having a taste of the dessert, but at home there’s another strategy: find delicious low cal desserts. I’m happy to share the list and pictures of my favorite lowest calorie desserts. Calorie count? Only 40 to 130 calories. They’re a big hit, too, at dinner parties.
A recent find are the Yasso yogurt bars. At first I was skeptical, but after my son introduced me to one, I was hooked. They’re the size of the caloric ice cream bars, they’re creamy and come in a variety of flavors ranging from mango and sea salt caramel to pistachio and chocolate fudge (my fave). Plus they’re healthier.
Calories? 80 to 100. Note: there’s a chocolate covered version with 140 calories but haven’t tried that one.

The Blue Bunny mini swirls has been one of my go to low cal sweets for awhile. They’re small but you still feel satisfied, especially if you get the chocolate ice cream with chocolate top. They come in a variety of flavors. The only problem is that once in awhile I’ve gotten a box that must be old as the cone isn’t crunchy.
Calories? 140

The healthiest option for lowest calorie desserts is Diana’s chocolate covered banana (dark or milk chocolate). A frozen banana is covered in a rich, dark chocolate that will make you wanting more. They also come in several flavors such as birthday cake, salted caramel, peanut butter cup and are sold as small bites — banana slices covered in chocolate.
Calories? 130-140

A classic is the fudgsicle, the lowest calorie of all. It tastes like chocolate ice, though it’s made with milk. It’s good when I’m really looking to cut calories.
Calories? 40 (the version without sugar)

The last choice is Trader Joe’s Hold the Cone that comes in different flavors. They are mini cones but they’re so tasty that sometimes they do the trick.
Calories? 70
What I do at dinner parties that is a hit is I bring out all the boxes and let people choose (seconds are permitted but rarely taken).
Love to hear what you think and any other suggestions for your picks of lowest calorie desserts (but no fruit juice pops please).

My go to is Yasso Mint Chocolate Chip – if you can get them at BJ’s or Costco (off and on), you save a little. If I can’t get them there, then Healthy Choice Fudge Bars 100 calories.
Thanks for the tips. Yasso is also sold at Publix and Milams.
This is a great assortment!
Once you try the chocolate covered Yasso it’s very hard to go back…
Uh oh, now I have to try it despite the extra calories!
Fudgsicles bring back warm memories from my childhood. Those hot summer days spent playing with cousins were so special. We never could eat the Fudgsicles quickly enough, and the sticky, melted chocolate always dripped down our chins. It’s good to know that Fudgsicles are low-calorie. I may have to look for them the next time I go to the store.
I’m that way about peach melba. That was what I had to eat when the family went out for Sunday dinner to the club.
