When it opened in South Beach, STK was the first of the non-traditional clubby steakhouses (click here for my review). And the newest one, STK Aventura also has what they call “vibe” dining with a casual club-like decor, besides the quality prime Angus and Wagyu beef and a selection of primo seafood that you’d expect, but there’s much more. It also follows in its “sister’s” footsteps with an amazing deal for happy hour and another great one called “steak night” which the winner of my blog contest, Armando, and I thoroughly enjoyed for his first prize award. Looking to take advantage of your drive to Aventura and make it a day? Stay tuned to the end for my post on a Day in Aventura.

Let’s go right to the steak night. Offered for dinner for two Sunday through Thursday it includes a bottle of La Marca Prosecco or Bonanza Cabernet, choice of two starters, two entrees, two sides and one dessert. Armando had the lil’ brgs, two Wagyu sliders on a sesame seed bun with a yummy sauce, and I had the tasty large baby gem Caesar.

There were two appealing fish entrees and a mushroom and truffle tagliatelle, but we had to try the steak, this being a steakhouse. Armando had the 6 ounce filet and I opted for the 14 ounce New York strip. Both steaks were very good, perfectly charred on the outside and tender inside with a beefy flavor.

For sides we opted for the asparagus and a super rich, totally decadent Mac & cheese. For dessert the bag o’donuts. The price person based on two diners is $69 plus tax and tip. The portions are quite large so you can easily take half of everything home and have another dinner.

Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 pm; weekends 2:30 to 5:30 pm; and late-night Sunday through Thursday from 9 pm. to close. Some of the delicious selections for bar bites include oyster on the half shell ($3), pastrami salmon cones, short rib quesadilla, and slider with truffle fries ($6), and 7 others like Steak frites, popcorn chicken and beef tartare ($9). Signature cocktails like the Cucumber Stiletto and many more including wine by the glass and beer ($9). There’s also a surf and turf for $19.

Service is friendly. STK Aventura is in the Esplanade adjacent to the Aventura Mall. There’s free parking in the large lots and valet parking is offered Thursday through Sunday for $10. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.
And while you’re in Aventura you may want to spend a day and here are things to do. Read about it in my A Day in Aventura including a wonderful Turkish hammam spa.
