Sexy Fish Miami is the restaurant of the moment, the one with the greatest buzz that you have to see and experience. It has the “visual” entertainment as in over the top décor to the tune of millions of dollars, and glam people watching all wrapped up. Plus, it has a special deal for lunch, a good way to try it out, plus happy hour.
It has all the details: from the staff uniforms that could be straight out of Dolce Gabbana with custom jewelry to match, to the table settings, interior design and even the bathroom décor with a sculptured mermaid and a lifelike statue of Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

The greeter at the outside entrance wears the wildly colorful, marine life inspired patterned jacket and slacks which is a hint at what awaits inside. Enter and find the hosts and hostesses in the same patterned suits accessorized with fashion jewelry of gold seahorse or starfish pins with pink rhinestones and matching bracelets. I asked if the jewelry was for sale yet (no).

The next visual excitement includes art by contemporary star Damien Hirst, 26 bespoke Koi fish lamps by Frank Gehry, the more than life size sculpture of a gilded octopus that projects from the wall, and throughout, rose colored glass floor to ceiling columns and precious agate stone floors. Walk up a few steps and find a private dining space with a serious wall to wall acquarium that holds 2500 gallons of seawater. Tables are set with raspberry red shagreen napkin rings with a rhinestone embedded seahorse and matching chopstick holder.

You get the picture, so on to the food, inspired by the seas of Asia with a focus on Japan. Signature dishes on the a la carte menu include Crispy Duck and Watermelon Salad, Smoked Tuna Belly, Crispy Eringi Mushroom with truffle, Black Cod, and King Crab and Bone Marrow.

Sexy Fish along with its sister restaurant in London is unveiling a new seasonal menu featuring three new Omakase tasting menus taking guests on an unforgettable culinary journey carefully curated by Chef Director Bjoern Weissgerber. The three new Omakase tasting menus; the Ludicrous ($250 per person) premium tasting menu, the Sekushi ($140 per person) seasonal tasting menu, and the Hiro ($90 per person) classic tasting menu all take diners on a unique unforgettable dining experience.

Sexy Fish’s lunchtime Kuikku menu, priced at $32.00 per person, has been updated for the season. Guests can select one starter, one main, and one sweet finish, with dishes including crispy tofu with lime and chili, sea bass crudo with pepper and apple, zucchini flower tempura, fried black cod, and salmon teriyaki.

In a city where mixologists are seriously creative, Sexy Fish is right up there with its “Synergy” selection offering unusual pairings of ingredients ranging from marshmallow and raspberry and grape and oregano to mango & chipotle and coffee and toast ($14 to $26). They offer one of the largest selections of Dom Perignon in the US including a $15,000 jeroboam, and an impressive wine list. A glass of wine (5 ounce pour) starts at $14 and a bottle at $70.
