Five years ago I discovered Anatomie’s travel clothing, dubbed them the best travel clothes, and even had a reader event there. I got a pair of their travel pants and a dress which have taken me all over the world with style and comfort. Since it’s travel season now for many of you plus I have a big trip coming up, I decided it was time to revisit and see what new styles they have and also for Mr. W as they expanded their men’s line. And here’s the update:

For those who don’t recall my original post (or are new readers), here’s the short recap on Anatomie. The company’s niche is travel clothing that can go from runway to restaurant, that’s wrinkle resistant, stylish, comfortable, stretchy and there are even dresses, Anatomie has a big showroom where the magic happens in Little River.

They also have shops in Palm Beach and Aspen. It’s a big Miami success story of a husband-wife team Kate and Shawn Boyer. They started out designing gymnastics and fitness apparel about 20-years ago . Kate is originally from Budapest, went to school in France and Shawn is from Ohio. They believe that traveling freely is one of the greatest privileges in life. Their mission is to become the most-loved luxury travel brand in the world.

They have scored writeups as the best travel clothes by the “who’s who” of media and sell in retailers like Neiman Marcus and top hotel boutiques. The company originally made its name from its Skyler pants. As comfortable as leggings, they can be worn on adventure travel or dressed up to wear to work or out to dinner. Their essentials come in black, white, red, navy, khaki and gray.

So light – A pair of pants is also the weight of a banana – they fold up to almost nothing – just throw in your carry-on, never check a bag again. In fact, they offer a mesh travel bag the size of a cosmetic carrying case where you can put three pair of pants and three tops, and one jacket – easy breezy to fit in a carry on bag or a weekender.

Pants come in sizes XS-XL, many body-type styles for women, Some pant styles for women, for example, come with zipper accents, cargo pockets, , a gold stripe down the side, and a wide leg version. They can be teamed with their take on a classic white blouse with very fine mesh sleeves, casual and dressy tops or more relaxed styles. For men there are eight styles of pants: cargo, dress and five pocket. For men they also have a vest, five kinds of jackets including utility, leather, denim style, rain jacket and blazer.

There are also long and short sleeve mesh tops and “cami” tanks with built in bras for easy-wear, metallic windbreakers and cool looking travel jackets, and mesh pieces, to make for a well-rounded, layering wardrobe for women on the go in any climate. Pieces mix and match, are wrinkle-free and low maintenance— wash in cold water and hang to dry–in just a few hours.

The latest additions for women are a small selection of dresses, a shift model, a shirred waist in navy blue and the Collete that’s a button up maxi dress with a mesh overlay. There are also skorts (combo short skirt like a tennis skirt with shorts and shorts.

For women, pants start at $114; tops at $72; jackets start at $99; dresses start at $148 and shorts and skorts at $119. For men shorts and pants start at $178; shirts at $98 and jackets at $178.

Wow this seems to good to be true – what a great find – can’t wait to ship and try !
Hi Karen,
Still following your blog after our chances meeting at Lobster Bar in South Beach years ago!
I was struggling with butting together travel clothing for an upcoming transatlantic trip to Rome followed by two weeks Umbria and Tuscany. I have some Chico’s traveler clothing which folds tiny and doesn’t wrinkle, but it isn’t the look I am going for in Italy. Need clothing for one month with some laundering.
I saw your post on Atatomie, and although I HATE shopping, drove up with hubby and we shopped for an hour, dropping more than $1000. Clothes feel small but they insisted they stretch with body heat.
Question: Did you put together a travel wardrobe? Do you still like what your purchased?
Last: Any experience with any of the Merino wool brands, those seem to be lightweight and resist odors so need to wash decreases?
I bought two items, a pair of dark blue cotton and synthetic pants with a zipper on each side and a shirtwaist dress in black and white made from a synthetic fabric so it’s super light and packable. I’ve had both for probably ten years and love them. They have been indestructible, you can hand wash them, and look good as new. Hope you also have success with your purchases. I would think you will.
