The Cafetera ring

A perfect gift for the person who can’t get enough coffee. Works too for those of us who like jewelry that’s sure to be a topic of conversation. It’s the two inch tall sterling silver ring that’s a “cafetera”. Yes, you got it right – it’s styled like a Cuban coffee machine, complete with a lid that you can raise, created by Santayana Jewelry.

It was conceived and designed by Rudy Santayana of the family who owns the two Santayana jewelry stores. He designed it over a year ago and it just languished in the showcase until it was discovered in social media.

As the Miami Herald reported, the Los Angeles based writer Marta Darby, who runs the blog My Big Fat Cuban Family, took a picture of the Cafetera Ring, posted it on her blog and turned it into a meme that read: “How to get a Cuban girl to marry you.” Then it went viral and the shop can’t keep them in stock.

Cuban themed charms

They also make the popular whimsical silver charms that celebrate Cuban culture. Think pressure cooker, guava pastry, domino, cookie, landmarks in Cuba, can of condensed milk, and many more. The sterling charms, some with enamel,  range in price from $35 to $50.
