You’re in for some eye catching, stylish fashion and earrings with my next reader event Wednesday, August 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. And, if you haven’t been to Little River, the hot new area of Miami, this can be your introduction. We’ll be hosted by artTECA, two Venezuelan sisters who fuse fashion and contemporary art to create original and stylish new Miami fashion styles together with Rock + Bone, one of my top finds from the recent swim week. They specialize in one of a kind handmade statement earrings that turn heads, made with colors that are perfect for Miami.
Enjoy prosecco, wine and light bites along with all of the eye candy. The number of guests is limited so you need to reply by August 14. Afterwards, you’re invited to join me at the Citadel, the new food hall in Little River. Email me, firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
First, artTECA –Their exclusive prints are made in collaboration with artists who are part of museums, galleries and private collections around the globe. They source work in mediums ranging from oil and collage to installations from artists in the Americas and Europe. Then, they digitally print it on silk, cotton and other high quality fabrics.
Find bold prints with vibrant hues made into silk scarves which can be transformed into halter tops, neck blows, headwear, some ten ways to use them, all detailed in a booklet with a purchase (a great gift item). Also find cool tank tops and long sleeve silk blouses, silk jogger pants, some with matching neoprene (material used in surfing suits) bomber jacket with silk inlays; and kimonos with traditional square sleeves and bolero style gathered at the wrist, both in different lengths.
Rock + Bone’s earrings are exclusive designs of Paris trained, Miami born Alejandra Kelly whose pedigree includes major luxury brands. All their pieces are hand-stitched using different materials such as stones, beads, shells, charms and pompoms, all on a leather backing.
And for those of you who can only wear clip ons, your time has arrived – all of her designs are clip ons. They’re surprisingly light, so easy to wear, and you’ll find a wide range of colors to go with any outfit. These attention getting accessories also come in “minis”, for those who want to make a statement but prefer smaller size.
And best yet, prices average $100.
The event will be at artTECA, 7269 NE 4th Avenue, Unit 103. (T.305-456-9632). Free parking.
