Christian Louboutin Limited Edition Polish
Holiday season is the time when retail extravagance reigns supreme. Global luxury brands are accommodating the top one hundredth of the one percent US population (assets over $100 million) looking for gifts for the person who has everything. Christian Louboutin can always be counted on to come through as he is doing this year with his crystal studded “Starlight” nail polish. The color, his signature Rouge. The spike-topped bottle is laced with 1,500 hand-applied strass crystals. The jewel box is lined in velvet and embellished with the same flower petals from the $1,395 Pensamoi stiletto. Only 1000 of the Louboutin nail polish were produced, and are sold in his stores and also at Sephora online. Price tag? $675.
Speaking about nail polish, it’s interesting to see how it has become such a fashion statement in the past five years — everything from all the colors of the rainbow and then some, to crystal studded talons and nail art. One of the latest novelties I saw recently at the Brickell area’s Caruna Spa and Wellness Center, 1800 SW 1st Avenue, is a polish that changes color when the sun hits it (BTW, they give a terrific facial and have serious deals this month including botox and injectibles). I just wish someone would come up with a foolproof polish that repairs nails that peel!
