Once again, it’s summer  and that can only mean one thing: bathing suit season! This month, add a haute twist to your everyday workout by signing up for classes at some of Miami’s most upscale gyms. Below is a list of our favorites for Miami fitness, curated just for you.

 

Anatomy 1220: Touted as “Miami Beach’s most luxurious fitness community,” Anatomy 1220 is the brainchild of former NFL player and “Chief Body Architect,” Marc Megna. Fueled by positivity, this facility has a full-service gym; a FITLab partnership that offers elite medical testing to help people reach their fitness goals; and a mobile vitamin-infusion service, VitaSquad, designed to increase energy and boost immunity. To round out its services, Anatomy 1220 even has “Sanctuary”; a recovery oasis filled with hot and cold plunges, saunas, and a soothing, eucalyptus steam room.

GreenMonkey Yoga: With locations in South Beach and Coral Gables, GreenMonkey Yoga is one of Miami’s hottest yoga studios. Whether you’re a novice yogi or an experienced professional, GreenMonkey Yoga lets you continue your practice at your own pace; whether its through power, gentle, Hatha or vinyasa yoga, yoga for kids and more.

SoulCycle Coral Gables/Miami Beach: Becoming the favorite workout of celebrities across the globe, today, more than 13,000 riders take SoulCycle classes everyday to release stress, burn fat, tone muscle, find joy in movement, and change their bodies and lives.  With two locations in Miami, one in Coral Gables and another in Miami Beach, riders burn anywhere from 500-700 calories in one 45-minute class, Participants will tone their upper bodies using hand weights and core-engaging choreography, all while “dancing” in a fun-filled, candlelit session on their bikes.

Soul-Cycle

FlyWheel & FlyBarre: With locations in North Miami, Boca Raton and Miami Beach, Flywheel and FlyBarre take you from the bike to the mat to make sure you get the most extensive workout possible. Created by Ruth Zukerman, this one-stop-workout-shop invites you to start with Flywheel, where you’ll burn all your calories on a high-speed exercise bike. Then, hop off the bike and move to the floor with FlyBarre, a total-body sculpting class that blends light weight training with core strengthening exercises to give all participants the ultimate toning experience.

 

David Barton Gym: Powered by the slogan “look better naked,” David Barton Gym is Downtown Miami’s own nightclub-inspired workout spot. Taking up 35,000 square feet of space, all on the top floor of the Southeast Financial Center’s 15th-floor annex, this “gym” has everything from a boxing studio, a basketball court and a squash court, to rock wall yoga, a Pilates studio, and countless classes designed to whip your body in shape.

Barry’s Bootcamp: With two locations in Miami Beach and Midtown, Barry’s Bootcamp is an elite fitness studio led by Derek DeGrazio. Offering fun, HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts, each class includes high-energy bursts of activity, short periods of lower-energy activity and a final “cool-down.” Classes last an hour each and are unique to each day; tailored to target arms, abs, butt, legs, chest, back, abs, and full body. With each session, participants can expect to do 25-30 minutes of cardiovascular treadmill routines and 25-30 minutes of strength training with free weights, resistance bands, medicine balls and more. Adding more allure to this studio, Barry’s Bootcamp also has a “fuel bar,” an outdoor patio, and a shower and towel service.

 

Orange Theory: Everyone in Miami knows about Orange Theory. Catapulting to fame since the moment it debuted, this one-of-a-kind workout invites men and women alike to push themselves to the limit on treadmills, rowing machines, a weight-lifting station and more. Arming each participant with a heart-rate monitor that lets them know exactly how hard they’re working, Orange Theory’s signature regimen combines high-intensity endurance, power and strength training with an “after burn” that promises to burn calories and build muscle power long after the workout has ended.

Innergy: To come down from your workout, reward your body with time at Miami Beach’s own pure meditation studio, Innergy. With meditation classes guaranteed to relieve stress, this studio is joining a bi-coastal movement of “mindfulness” practiced by rock stars, professional athletes, celebrities and Fortune 500 executives alike. In each 30-45 minute class, a skilled teacher will guide you through the proper steps to calm your mind, relax your body and leave you feeling ready for the rest of your day. There is no special clothing, no gimmicks and nothing needed other than your full body and spirit.

And for those of you who belong to the Equinox clubs, try to take in one of the classes of Tania Amthor. Her base is the club at the Equinox on Brickell Avenue in the Four Seasons Hotel. Not only is she a top trainer, but her personality makes the hour fly by.
