Serious creativity was on tap for the entries to the MiamiCurated contest to name a new blogpost category. Thanks to all of you who participated and for the good ideas. Close to 80 different ideas were submitted either in  private emails to me or in public comments on the blogpost. Choosing was tough. The criteria were to have a name that could encompass food, fashion, culture and events and that they be “finds”, getting my personal stamp of approval but not necessarily be the “top” in town. Since emojis are becoming an important part of our communication now, I ideally wanted to incorporate one in the name. First, the runner up. Playing on the acronym which is part of what MiamiCurated is all about, WTC — worth the calories, I liked the name WTD as in worth the detour. But my first choice and the winning entry is the more personal Karen’s Kudos that will run with the thumbs up emoji.
