As airlines continue to shrink the size of seats and reduce services on long haul flights in economy class this requires serious attention. Imagine 8 hours or more inflight in a 17 Inch seat and sitting next to someone obese? It would almost make me want to give up traveling. But wait, there are always frequent flyer miles to upgrade to business or first class. Need to move some of your American Express membership awards miles over to the airline of your choice? Come up short on the number of miles so need to buy miles? You have multiple destinations on one trip? Who can navigate all of this and more – spend the time, let alone figure it all out?
To the rescue, companies that provide the service of booking airline tickets using frequent flyer miles. The service was brought to my attention by a colleague, Ramsay Qubein, prominent travel journalist (@DailyTravelTips) who has circumnavigated the world 80 times, traveling to 150 countries. He told me about Bookyouraward.com and Points Pros who specialize in awards travel. I used Points Pros recently on a very complicated itinerary to Asia involving 3 destinations, buying miles, and using Amex membership rewards miles for Business Class. They did a topflight job. They charge $200 for the first person and $100 for an additional person on the same itinerary. Their service is 100% guaranteed and if you need to make a change later, depending on how much time is required, there’s a nominal additional charge. They saved me several thousand dollars and a lot of time. Thank you Ramsay.
