Closeout Sale and Design Finds

As you regular readers know, this blog has never featured a sale. But there are sales and sales, and this one merits an exception.

A foray last week to find design resources uncovered new “finds” as well as a 75% off closeout sale as in closing the Baker furniture store on the third floor  in the Village of Merrick Park. If you’re looking for indoor and outdoor furniture to fill in here and there, lamps, and dining room tables, get over there before they sell out. I bought a gem of a floor lamp with a shade inspired by Asian parasols , regularly close to $2000 for $260. Now that’s a deal. (the dining room table pictured here was originally $20,000, now under $5000).

And in the process of the design outing, found some wonderful new stores on Biltmore Way in Coral Gables. Sierra is the first U.S. outpost of a Brazilian furniture chain with stylish high end living room and bedroom furniture, fabrics with a large selection of leather choices, and accessories. A favorite were glamourous silk poufs with a choice of fabrics, perfect for an extra seat for the bedroom or closet. Next door is Home Design with imported items, many from India and other parts in Asia, and very well priced.

Happy hunting!

  1. Another great place for furniture in that area is Victoria’s Armoire @ 4077 Ponce De Leon

    1. So glad you mentioned it. I just discovered the shop and it has beautiful things. Would have never believed they have an entire warehouse in the back.
