What are Miami’s hottest restaurants? Which are the ones that concierges, the REAL insiders, recommend? Here is the third tip from another Miami hotel concierge, Anastasia Dyukova of the Vintro Hotel. For hot tickets 1 and 2, click here.
What is the “Hot Ticket” restaurant that you recommend (other than one in your hotel)?
Katsuya by Starck at the SLS Hotel, featuring classic Japanese cuisine, is in demand. Reservations are hard to get, especially on a Friday or Saturday night.
The Bazaar by José Andrés, also at the SLS Hotel, is very popular too. The Hyde Bar by the pool at SLS is a good spot if you want to have a few drinks outside and like a late night. It’s open until 3 or 4 a.m.
Villa Azur is “the” place for their Thursday night party. If someone wants to spend time listening to music and have a few drinks, it’s right across from the Vintro, so it’s very convenient for our guests.
What night is best?
At Katsuya, the best nights are Friday and Saturday nights, because of the scene, because people like to go out on the weekends.
At Villa Azur, Thursday nights are best for the scene, and Friday nights are the 2nd most crowded.
What time is best?
At Katsuya, I would suggest 8-8:30 pm, because it’s crowded, but not as crowded as it is at 10 pm. And if it is crowded, you can eat by the bar.
What’s the best table?
At Katsuya, because of the design of the restaurant, all the tables are well situated.
At The Bazaar by José Andrés, the tables that are best for people watching are close to the window, next to the bar.
What’s the crowd like?
At Katsuya, age 25+ and a mix of locals and tourists, lots of Europeans. At Bazaar, it’s a quieter scene and would be great for a birthday or anniversary celebration. Also the menu selection is perfect if you want a few bites and a cocktail in a nice ambiance.
