Fitness clothing has morphed into fitness fashion with big name designers getting into the game, solid neutrals giving way to fluorescents and other eye popping colors, and print leggings populating gyms from East to West Coast. And then there are the sneakers, a serious fashion statement in themselves, often matching the clothes.
So it should come as no surprise that major retailer Foot Locker branched out into a new line of shops called SIX:02 that will outfit you from head to toe in fashion forward clothing and sneaks. SIX:02 carries the best styles from top name brands including Nike, Under Armour, adidas, Asics, Reebok and some boutique lines. I tried out the new line from Under Armour which used to be known for its black clothing line for men and is now offering wow colors like the chartreuse bra top and hot pink capri leggings I’m sporting here. They combined it with a perfect feather light v neck black tee which you can wash and dry in no time, also terrific for travel. Not only attractive, the outfit was super comfy and well fitting.
If the fitness trainer can’t wake you up, seeing these popping bright new leggings that are all the fashion now sure will. Over a two week period I snapped shots of some of the more colorful models in the morning classes of fitness instructor extraordinaire, Tania Amthor. She teaches at the Equinox on Brickell Avenue. It appears the color scheme of choice are the blues. And sometimes the sneakers match and even water bottles. But, as you’ve seen, wearing them is not restricted to the gym. Come join me weekday mornings at the Equinox and wear your finest leggings.
And finally, get this….a shirt that measures your heart rate, breathing depth, calories burned and more, all automatically streamed to your iPhone via Bluetooth. It’s the new Ralph Lauren Polo Tech Shirt for $295. It was officially released to the public last week following its debut at last year’s U.S. Open.

While I think some of these are so cute– I just don’t think they are for everyone (especially for everyday wear). In fact, it seems like I see the wrong body types wearing this type of gear around town more than I do the more fit body types. Hmmmm….
