In the late 80’s and 90’s, one of the handbags to have in the fanciest watering holes from New York City’s Upper East Side and the Hampton’s to Beverly Hills was an Ann Turk. They were also handbags of choice for a “who’s who” in the celebrity world, from Madonna, Sharon Stone, and Elizabeth Taylor, to fashionistas, Anna Sui and Sonya Rykiel, said to embody elegance, glamour and distinction. Ann Turk was founded in 1982 by Lillian Miller and her son Glen, the designer. He has revived the brand, now known as Glen Miller for Ann Turk, with a contemporary update . My favorite model is the retro mini with clean, simple, graceful lines, perfect for an elegant cocktail or dinner out.
It’s small yet roomy and comes in a choice of neutral, prints and eye popping shades in leather, ostrich, crocodile, python, satin and lizard including a black and white variety that’s stunning . There’s also a needlepoint version with your favorite breed of dog. The quality hardware – so important in a handbag – is Italian, and the lining is custom designed satin print or solid to coordinate with each handbag.
Prices for the retro minis range from $649 for leather to $3850 for crocodile. There are also other styles and wallets. Debuting in February will be a line of leather clothes, shoes, and other accessories. To order online go to: http://sale.annturk.com/

Still have my fabulous Ann Turk minis from the 80’s including a great croc with gold clasp and still love them!
