Fave Finds: Miami Swim Week Photos

Miami Beach was more than hopping this past weekend with show upon show for Miami Swim Week — entrants from Australia and Brasil to  India, Kenya and Peru besides the usual suspects (the USA, UK, Brazil and others). The trends? Lace and more lace, in royal blue, canary yellow, pink, you name it. Julian Chang‘s fashion entries were tops in this category.  Bright colors, especially fluorescents and iridescence were burning up the runways, and then there were the de rigeur blingy sandals that won’t quit, especially the gladiator models.  The main events were held in the Convention Center and in tents across from the W Hotel, a second and more exclusive show called La Cabana. Here’s a look at Miami Swim Week 2015 photos,  my fave fashions and products:

Speaking of the La Cabana show, as proof of admission they give out baby bracelets (love that detail) and some wonderful goody. This year it was a snazzy water bottle from S’well that keeps coffee hot for 12 hours and cold beverages for 24 hours (didn’t try it out yet, but that’s what they say).  And even if it doesn’t measure up to those high standards, they’re pretty hot, and go well with the print leggings and fluorescent sneakers populating gyms these days. Then there are shows in numerous South Beach hotels,  pop up beauty bars pitching new apps like The Glam App that offers all kinds of beauty services on demand,  skin care products like RXGenesys that has stem cell technology and is said to remove brown spots on the skin,  and shopping for a cause (e.g. Style Saves) with indie boutiques (Sunday Soiree).

There was even a Surfit, boot camp on the beach followed by brunch sponsored by Shiseido and SELF magazine. It was 92 degrees that day. Your truly opted out of that one.  As you’ll see, one of my favorite swimwear designers was Colombian Hernan Zajar. You can even wear some of the pieces as tops for going out on the town. A new show participant this year was Bikini Cleanse, a seven day diet. I wonder if the gorgeous swimwear models take that. If so, sign me up. Actually not.

Special thanks to photographer Bianca Pierre for most of the photos and Mr. W who took the runway shots of Hernan Zajar’s collection. Enjoy the view!
