Fabulous Friday: Men’s Style

men's style

We women certainly enjoy seeing well dressed men and in fact, many of us help choose clothes for husbands or boyfriends (and  have an opinion on the subject!). At the same time, I thought it was time that MiamiCurated featured a Fabulous Friday choice for men’s style, especially since 40% of my readers are men. In looking at this month’s Departures magazine, there was this handsome image on the cover. Love the cut and color of the suit, the perfect tie, and how about that fedora hat? In case you want to go out and buy the clothes, here are the designers: Suit and shirt,Salvatore Ferragamo; hat and tie, Ermengildo Zegna; and pocket scarf by Bruno Cucinelli.  In the same issue highlighting men’s fashion, there were a number of other terrific looks. A surprising new style — men wearing flip flops with two piece suits. Hmmmmm. What do you think of that?

And then I just read about a major new fashion trend for women spotted at New York Fashion Week by Annie Vasquez, otherwise known as The Fashion Poet: Tomboy chic! Check out the images.

  1. men in Miami do not wear suits unless it is for business, and GQ is really the fashion god in this department above all other sources……
flip flops w a suit was in Armani’s window on Madison years ago…
    ….
my favorite look for men is and always has been well fitted jeans, dark shirt, white shirt, or pastel shirt, dark jacket, Gucci loafers or the palm beach look of wooten and stubbs slippers, and an alligagtor belt…NO LOGO, thank you very much….also, there is no accessory more bespoke than a refined watch by either tiffany or patek phillippe on an alligator band, naturally diamond free…..
a hat on a man is wonderful, but most men would be fearful of looking gay, which is funny, as gay men have always influenced mainstream fashion.
and here we are….tra la la la!

  2. this ensemble is bor and I mite add RING…matching tie w suit ?? no creativity of style there, sister, and what is that long dark belt doing hanging out?j two sizes too long? this outfit has all the dash and sex appeal of a toadstool….a dead one!
gq would have written an editorial called “dont let this happen to you”
    tra la la la la

  3. My Husband has not gone shopping for himself since 1986…So the answer is yes, I do the shopping for him. I think flip flops for a suit is just silly and if I never see another pair of jeans again on a man or a woman, would be just fine with me.

  4. I like Ferragamo for men. For me the cut is fantastic; it’s always elegant without being “show off”. I’m not sure for the hat with a suit. It’s a bit controversial. Buit a fedora hat should be nice with linen casual suit. A pair of jeans with a excellent tee-shitr, a linen jacket. Just add with that a pair of navy suede mocassin witout socks AND YOU GET A VERY SEXY MAN unless he has a big tummy,,,,,

    1. I was doing “digital detox’ this weekend so no blog stuff……I also like the jeans look with fine cotton collared shirt (European style as opposed to preppy), blazer and shoes without socks (Stubbs and Wooten type, slipons). And speaking about shoes, once read a survey that said women look first at a man’s shoes and I totally agree with that — the quality of the leather, worksmanship and style say a lot about the man’s sartorial sense. GQ’s sensibilities and taste in men’s style do appeal to me, but I still stick by this Ferragamo look. European chic. Love it if the men readers would comment as well. And you’ll be interested to know that this week or next you’ll be reading a post from a new guest contributor, Steve Deitsch, who will be writing about men’s fashion among other topics.
